A schist like sedimentary limestone from Whangarei. Paradise Stone is a unique, very popular high-grade limestone. This stone has lovely grey colour when split, but also has the advantage of a calcite deposite face variation also. This stone is an excellent choice for a traditional Ashlar bond with an exposed mortar joint, but equally just as good laid in random ashlar with a recessed mortar joint. It looks exceptional when laid to the highest standard "dry-stack" look a like style. See two different styles on the enlarged picture.
